Adult Membership Community · Ages 18+ · Ongoing & Hybrid
Sister Circle is BGA's ongoing membership community for Black women 18 and older. Unlike the 8-week cohort programs, Sister Circle is not a course — it is a home. A recurring space where Black women gather monthly to do the interior work that the rest of the world does not make room for.
Each month is themed and facilitated, drawing on the BGA arts-based approach. Circles happen in a hybrid format — in-person for those who can gather, live-streamed and online for those who cannot. Members also have access to an ongoing online community space between sessions, quarterly in-person events, and exclusive access to BGA resources and discounts.
| Month | Theme | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| January | New Grounds | Intention setting and self-inventory. What are you building this year and who do you need to be to build it? |
| February | Ancestors and Love | Honoring lineage and redefining love — romantic, communal, ancestral, and self-directed. |
| March | The Body | Somatic wellness, rest, pleasure, and what it means to actually live inside your body without apology. |
| April | Money and Abundance | Honest conversations about financial wellness, wealth building, and the specific economic realities of Black women. |
| May | Transitions | Navigating change — career shifts, relationship endings, grief, new chapters — with intentionality and community support. |
| June | Joy | Not despite everything. Because of everything. Black women's joy as a political act and a personal practice. |
| July | Grief | The grief we do not have space to name. Loss of people, possibilities, versions of ourselves. Witnessed and held in community. |
| August | Community and Accountability | The relationships that hold us. How to build and maintain community that is honest, reciprocal, and durable. |
| September | Power | What is your power? How do you hold it? How do you use it? Leadership, influence, and self-determination. |
| October | Creativity | Creative practice as wellness. Making something — anything — as a way of returning to yourself. |
| November | Legacy | What are you leaving behind? What are you building forward? The long view of a Black woman's life. |
| December | Rest and Release | The close of the year. What are you putting down? What are you taking into the next season? Rest as a radical act. |
An open-door community for any Black woman 18+. Month-to-month memberships can be cancelled at any time. Annual memberships are non-refundable but transferable.
