A free monthly book club for Black, Brown, and Indigenous women who love a good read and an even better conversation about it. We pick books worth staying up too late for, then we get together to praise them, argue about them, and gossip about every character who had it coming. Bring your opinions. We will bring the energy.

You know that feeling when you finish a book and immediately need to tell somebody? This is where you bring that. A whole circle of women who read it too, who caught what you caught, and who have THOUGHTS.
Books you can't put down
Every pick is by or about Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, and every pick has to earn it. Page-turners, gut-punches, slow burns, and the occasional book that will have you texting the group at midnight. No assigned-reading energy here.
Conversation that goes there
We laugh, we gasp, we side-eye the character who should have known better. And because there is always a great host in the room, the talk goes somewhere good instead of fizzling into who-wants-to-go-first silence.

What if I didn't finish the book?
Come anyway. Finished it, halfway through it, only read the back cover and the group chat spoilers, all welcome. Nobody is checking your page count at the door.
Where do you meet?
Online every month so women anywhere can pull up. Throughout the year we also host in-person meetups in major cities across the country. Sign up once and you will hear about all of it.
Who is this for?
The Assembly Reads centers Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, and any woman who wants to read in that spirit is welcome. Grown women of every age gather here.
Can I just lurk the first time?
One hundred percent. Camera on, camera off, talk a lot, or just sip your tea and take it in. Show up however feels good. Most lurkers are running their mouth by month two anyway.
How is this different from The Culture Collective?
The Assembly Reads is one free gathering a month, no strings. The Culture Collective is the full year-round membership with circles, courses, coaching and more. The book club is a great place to start. The Collective is where a lot of readers decide to go next.
